Papers, 1938-1984 (bulk 1938-1980).

Typescripts, notes, correspondence, royalty statements, reviews, galley proofs, illustrations done in a variety of media many with separations, separations, sketches and studies done in variety of media, dummies, paste-ups, research material, book jackets, and proofs, and production material for some unpublished titles and miscellaneous art work including sketchbooks. Many of the titles in the Clement Hurd Collection were done in collaboration with his wife, the children's author Edith Thacher Hurd, and one title with their son, Thacher Hurd. Much of the correspondence is to and from both of the Hurds; with some from Margaret Wise Brown, Ursula Nordstrom, and Velma Varner.
